Since the first edition, the “Resia Rosolina Relay – Along Adige River” has never lacked a female presence. On more than one occasion, “mixed” teams showed up at the start of this maxistaffetta, which for 433 kilometers and seamlessly follows the course of the Adige River from the Vinschgau to the Adriatic with teams of 10 runners each. But the fourth edition of the race, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, will in its own way be a “historic” event: in fact, for the first time, the organization has registered as many as two women-only lineups.
Originating from the Veneto region but open doors to extra-regional “influences” (six out of ten runners are from Verona, but the team also includes a runner from Rome and one from Milan), “Le Lunatike” are a diverse group that will take on the adventure to bring a message of independence and freedom, seasoned with healthy competitive spirit. And it will also do so with a charitable goal, raising funds for Acisjf, an association that runs the Youth Protection Home in Verona, housing single and underage women; and committing to the “Psychological Support Project” aimed at women victims of domestic violence. The veteran of the event is 32-year-old Giulia Ricciotti, a dentist, who is in her fourth participation-an absolute act of love. The youngest member of the team, however, is Beatrice Toffoletto, a 26-year-old from Treviso.(https://www.eppela.com/projects/10497)
The other all-female team will be Vicenza Marathon, a club that also has the record number of participating lineups: it will field as many as five at the start.
Registration for this great race, the only one of its kind in Italy (a total of 40 stages that will engage teams of 10 runners, each of whom will cover over the course of the race four times the distance of about 10 kilometers), is open on the event website, www.resiarosolinarelay.it and on the Endu portal at the link: https://join.endu.net/entry?edition=79838
After the last step, the entry fee remains set at 650 euros until Aug. 31, the last day before registration closes. race book (route and safety instructions)
