Since its first edition, the “Resia Rosolina Relay – Along the Adige River” has never missed the female presence. More than once, “mixed” teams have been at the start, following the course of the Adige river from Val Venosta to the Adriatic Sea in teams of 10 runners each for 433 kilometers without interruption.

The fourth edition of the race, which is scheduled for Friday, 8 September  and Saturday, 9 September 2023, will be a “historic” event in its own way: For the first time, two pure women’s teams are registered.

Originating from the Veneto region and open to supra-regional “influences”, “Le Lunatike” are a heterogeneous group (six out of ten runners come from Verona, but the team also includes one runner from Rome and one from Milan). They face the adventure to transmit a message of independence and freedom, combined with a healthy competitive spirit.

At the same time, they also pursue a charitable target: they collect donations for Acisjf, an association that manages the House for Youth Protection in Verona. There are single women and minors sheltered. “Le Lunatike” support the project “Psychological Support” for women who are victims of domestic violence. The most veteran member of the group is 32-year-old dentist Giulia Ricciotti, who is participating for the fourth time, she has taken Resia Rosalina Relay into her heart.  The youngest runner of the team is Beatrice Toffoletto, 26, from Treviso.

The other all-women team is that of Vicenza Marathon, a club that also has the record number of participating teams: it will compete with no less than five teams.

The registration for this great race, the only one of its type in Italy (40 stages in total, in which teams of 10 runners participate, each of them covering a distance of about 10 kilometers four times during the race), is possible on the website of the event, www.resiarosolinarelay.it, and on the portal Endu at the following link: https://join.endu.net/entry?edition=79838

Until August 31, the last day before the registration deadline, the registration fee is 650 EURO.
