The event “Resia Rosolina Relay – Along Adige River” has already a fixed place in the Italian running calendar for the new season. The third edition of the great run, which follows the course of the Adige River from its source to the sea, is scheduled for Friday, September 2 and Saturday, September 3, 2022, and already from March 1 registrations will be open (online on the event’s website, www.resiarosolinarelay.it).
Organized by ASD VRM TEAM in collaboration with ASV Rennerclub Vinschgau, ASD Polisportiva Adige and RUN IT Rovigo, the Resia Rosolina Relay event is a long relay race of 433 kilometers divided into 40 stages, combining the charm of an impressive environment and a route with an epic journey on foot through two regions and five Italian provinces. Teams of 10 runners each can participate and each athlete will cover a distance of about 10 kilometers four times during the race. After each run and before the next, each athlete will be able to recover while his nine teammates will start one after the other.
An event inspired by the Hood to Coast Relay, which takes place every year in Oregon at the end of August. Transferred to Italy, the idea became a long relay race along the Adige River, the second longest river in Italy. It starts in Reschen in the Vinschgau Valley, at the source of the river, and ends at its mouth in Rosolina. It crosses two regions, Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto, and five provinces: Bolzano, Trento, Verona, Venice and Rovigo.
The first teams are scheduled to start at 4 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, with the last team arriving around 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3.
Registration for the competition costs 450 euros per team from March 1 to May 31, after which the price increases to 500 euros by June 16, to 550 euros by August 15, and finally to 600 euros by August 31, the last day before registration closes.
